Charitable Donation
Charitable donations are essential to people who are in need of assistance with medical bills or other types of bills. There are many charitable donation agencies that distribute funds to people on an as needed basis. If you are considering making a gift to charity, be sure that the agency is accredited and is widely known to have a good reputation. Unfortunately, there are those who will take advantage of people who give a gift to charity to assist people in need. They are scam artists who will take the money for themselves, with no intention of distributing it to people in need. One can be more certain the money is going where it is supposed to by making all gifts to charity to nationally recognized agencies.
A contribution to charity can be part of your tithe if the organization has the sole purpose of helping those in need. There are so many different types of organizations that accept charitable donations on behalf of people. There are various children's organizations for children with cancer or other terminal diseases and also charitable donation funds for abused or neglected children. Children with terminal diseases and their families need assistance to pay for hospital bills and time lost from work. Gifts of money make it possible for parents to be with their children during this trying time. Like tithing to the local church, it is also tax deductible.
There are also many children who are displaced due to abuse or neglect by their parents. Charitable donations help these children get the things they need to add some normalcy to their lives. Food, clothing and shelter are their primary basic needs, but children also need love and a few things to call their own. These donated funds provide some extra things and give the children something positive to focus on. Many children living in third world countries desperately need help from the rest of the world just to be able to eat from day to day. "And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity." (1 Corinthians 13:13)
There are so many needs to be met when tragedy strikes, such as food, clothing, and shelter. These are just the basic needs that have to be met in order for survival. There are also much larger needs that are provided only by the charity of people who are more affluent, such as rebuilding of homes and providing furnishings. It takes the charitable donations of many, many people to make a difference. Many jobs are lost due to large-scale tragedies and the primary source of income for these people comes from compassionate gifts until they are able to return to work. A charitable donation can make a difference.
