Characteristics Of A Christian Husband
The main characteristics of a Christian husband can be found primarily in Ephesians, Chapter 5, of the Holy Bible. No other book so thoroughly explains the husband's role in marriage, particularly to love the wife as Christ loves the Church. "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;" (Ephesians 5:25). But a husband can only cherish a wife when the priority is to first love and obey God. In the twenty-first century, carnality has so crept into the church that many males no longer seek to live godly lifestyles. But God is still looking for a few good men not ashamed to uphold godly principles. Characteristics of a Christian husband thus include: the ability to love, the strength to abstain from carnality, the power to act as the spiritual head of household, and the willingness to allow the Holy Spirit to lead in every area of life.

A godly mans wife proudly follows her mate's leadership in spiritual matters, confident that decisions will be made not based on the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes or the pride of life, but solely on the will of God. Submitting to a man bearing the characteristics of a Christian husband becomes easier. "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing" (Ephesians 5:23-25).
