Creation myths of the world try to explain the beginning of life, how the earth was created. Many cultures have their own beliefs and stories behind the origin of life. In addition, scientific theories put their own twists on the origin of life. The creation of earth in the Bible provides detail of the first six days where God created the heavens and the earth. "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters" (Genesis 1:1-2). The book of Genesis explains the creation of all life and how God spoke it into being. The light was the first thing created. After that came the sky and the oceans and the separation of land from the ocean and plants. The sun, moon, and stars came next and then the sea animals and the birds. Lastly were the land animals and humanity, both man and woman. God did all of this in six days and then He rested on the seventh day.
The stories of the ancient Greeks were around many characters referred to as gods and they were worshipped by the people. These gods appear in story in relation to adventurous beasts or monsters. Greeks had many mythical creatures as an explanation to the origins of life. The Greeks creation myths of the world largely believed that the world was formed naturally from water as were the gods. Then men and women came into being and the gods rested. Some people think the origin of life as accounted in God's word is a myth or just a story.
