Prideful People

God has given us freedom and democracy and we need to take pride in our country so that being a good citizen is important to us. Prideful people, in these ways, are acceptable to God.
It is the self-prideful attitude that is dangerous. We have seen it in the actions of dictators and kings who acquire such great power and believe they are gods. It is when arrogance makes them lose all compassion and caring for their people that their reigns become evil. This is the kind of haughtiness that is totally unacceptable from a Biblical perspective.
