Friendships
A friendship quiz can give any computer user an idea of what type of friend to make or what type of friends to attract. A test can aid in this process by giving the user a better idea of how to make relationships that last for years to come. In today's world people find it difficult to form deep, lasting friendships; our lives have become so busy. But in today's world of hustle and bustle and productivity, true connections are needed more than ever. Perhaps a Biblical perspective of fellowship can give us a direction in finding true friends that bring joy and support into our lives.
When taking a friendship quiz or personality test, the person will want to keep in mind what the Bible teaches us about the need for fellowship with like-minded people, or other believers. The Bible, time and again, is the source that provides examples and guidance to every situation in life. God's Word contains answers to questions that deal with life and purpose and relationships. In the Bible, God refers to close Christian connections as family, demonstrating that as believers in Christ, we are to unite and care for one another. From the Biblical perspective, friends are every bit as important as blood relations or family. It is like we are blood relations to other believers in Jesus Christ! His blood was shed for us, and this we have in common.
There is a wonderful example of Christ's teaching on friendships and family in the book of Matthew. In Matthew, chapter twelve, Jesus' mother and brothers come to inquire of him. Christ's disciples interrupt him to let him know that his family is there and want to speak with him. What Christ does next reveals a godly perspective of family and a righteous perspective of relationships. "But he answered and said unto him that told him, who is my mother? And who are my brethren? And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother" (Matthew 12:48-50). Christ used this opportunity to teach us something important about God's kingdom. When we are bonded by the shared belief of God and in the desire to serve him, we are as family. Christ clearly states that those who are in the will of God are just like his own mother, brothers, and sisters. When Christ gestured to the crowd listening to the teaching, he proclaimed that those people were his family. For more information on other Bible topics, visit these Bible resources.
Whenever a person attends church and sits beside others who are eager to learn and eager to serve, then he is not only sitting among friends, but he is sitting among family. Paul, the apostle, continues this teaching in several of the letters he wrote to the young churches that were just beginning to set the standards that we follow today. In Philippians, Paul wrote, "Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind" (Philippians 2:2). In a letter to the Colossians, Paul wrote, "That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; in whom are hid the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." (Colossians 2:2-3) The family of Christ is to be knit together, bonded, having one common direction and heart. Now this is what family and friendships are truly about--and what a person can begin to accomplish online!
Take a friendship quiz! Take a personality test! And then plug into a church family. There are many occasions to serve within a church body and taking the initiative to get involved will reveal like-minded friends who long to serve their Lord in the fellowship of others who believe the same. The spirit of Christ lives within each believer, and the spirit of Christ will recognize us when we come together as Christian family. Even through an e-mail acquaintance with another believer, we can expand our horizons and build our fellowship.
The world is moving so fast, and we've created a fast-paced lifestyle that leaves little time for investing in long lasting friendships. We feel as if we are strangers in our neighborhood and in our workplace. Our hearts yearn for deeper connections with our neighbors, our relations, our immediate family. But where can we find the time to establish new relationships? However, the very things that have contributed to our over-productivity can also be used as tools for finding friends and like-minded Christians. The Internet and a friendship quiz can be a valuable source of connecting and fellowship with people who, in Christ, are truly family!
