Online leads are marketing tools that are provided by the Internet user who is seeking further information on topics such as business opportunities or mortgage loans and debt consolidation. Just like the age-old telemarketer, an online lead can provide the user's personal and contact information and can narrow down the users to those with the profiles that can best be serviced with their offers. An Internet lead doesn't have to be applied for at each marketer's web site. Marketers are able to network with others to provide information of those applicants whom they were unable to assist to others who may be able to better serve the searching user. These information sources are called prospects. "For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy" (Ecclesiastes 2:26).



Lists of names are applied for by the user when they desire to get information from a website. They provide contact information, and within a short time later, they are receiving electronic mail from additional sources. These sources were able to use their personal information, the online lead, and categorize the user into market groups. The market groups determine which marketer can best help provide the information for which the user is seeking by these online leads that are relevant to the marketers' interests. Various sites will assist in this type of grouping. Debt consolidation, games, business opportunities, and other sites are usually targeted for online leads. Market grouping is primarily interest oriented prospect intervention and assistance. These marketers are selective and use specialized name grouping to help people who are trying to earn money from home, or change financial circumstances and have sought help via the Internet. Such a prospect will receive offers from several companies or individuals which give the user several options for assistance.



When an Internet user completes an Internet name gathering application, it is very likely that at least one offer will help them fulfill their interests. Prospects are packaged in groups of users and are provided to specific requesters for further assistance in their area of expertise. Each name grouping is specifically coordinated according to the target audience interests. The main problem with using Internet name groupings is with those users who use pop-up blockers to block or avoid the marketing buyer's access. These users are missing out on opportunities to gain information that will help them find answers.



Marketers are troubled with their own woes when pursuing good prospects. They try to obtain the online leads that will most likely take their offers. There are some websites who obtain online lead information and their lack of being selective in who they include in the marketers' purchased package. The marketer typically wastes time attempting to contact users who have totally unrelated interests. For example, some websites attract users with incentive offers - rewards for signing up on the website - and the recorded prospects from such reward seekers don't always meet the criteria for the marketing buyer's who want serious consumers who they can help.
